Applications are now available for the 3rd Annual Beatrice Herrmann Young Artist Recital Competition (download below). The Competition is named in loving memory of Beatrice Herrmann, a generous benefactor and long-time subscriber of the Tacoma Philharmonic, whose generosity provided for the creation of the recital competition to discover and showcase the region's most promising young artists.
The mission of the Beatrice Herrmann Competition is to promote excellence in musical performance, to encourage young musicians in their pursuit of high artistic standards, and to foster a love of the performing arts in the community and throughout the Puget Sound region.
The Competition evaluates young musicians in three divisions:
Junior Division (Grades 7-9)
Senior Division (Grades 10-12)
Young Artist Division (High School Graduates up to the age of 24)
